Extremely beautiful lights geared toward functionality and visual comfort.

FRANCO ALBINI

NEMO, lighting division of Cassina S.p.A., launches the new collection “I Maestri”, dedicated to a series of lamps conceived by renowned international designers.
The first products of this new collection are five lighting objects designed by Franco Albini, one of the most important Italian architects of the twentieth century, a great protagonist of functionalism, with an eclectic personality, his work even extended to town planning and industrial design.
Franco Albini’s lamps, brought to life by Nemo with the “I Maestri” collection, are characterized by the essentiality and quality of the materials used- chromed metal and blown glass – and by simple and harmonious lines.
The “I Maestri” collection by Nemo will be soon enriched by creations of other protagonists of the twentieth-century of Italian and international design.

KAZUHIDE TAKAHAMA

Nemo enriches the “Classici” collection with five sculptural lamps designed by Kazuhide Takahama Three concepts developed from 1974 to 1977 and including five different lamps are as part of the "Classici" collection.
Born in Japan but living in Italy since the Sixties, Kazuhide Takahama can be described as a pioneer among Japanese designers and architects, as he was one of the first Japanese artists who won the trust of Italian companies in the Sixties and who was widely appreciated by consumers all over the world. Focusing on what most people do not even notice, Takahama tends to avoid any reference to the Japanese culture to draw inspiration elsewhere and to be a "medium" - as he describes himself - of a concept, a demand, an idea, turning it into something concrete and material.
